We all experience the feeling of being a victim at one time or another. It is so easy for us to blame a negative situation on others when we are in the heat of a moment and subsequently wallow in pity.
Your attitude and perception on life comes from within. Negative outside circumstances are plentiful and if they are influencing your views on life in a negative way, then take charge and make an effort to change them.
Having a pessimist view as the fall-back stance or instant viewpoint can drastically alter your experiences – so much so, that even when pessimists experience pleasant things, they are unable to recognize the joys because their views are clouded. A pessimist views negative experiences as a victim, but an optimist can view negative experiences differently.
Try using a different lens
Through using a different lens we can view a negative experience as one that a hero would experience and turn it into a positive. A hero sees a negative problem and turns the situation around and in essence tries to fix it.
Try not to succumb to the victim versus hero situation and instead adopt a more rational approach to enable you to move on. Set yourself a daily goal that should you experience something that appears to be negative, leaving you feeling like a victim, turn it around and make yourself feel like a hero instead. I would even go so far as creating a superhero name for yourself, so when you need assistance, call upon this superhero name to give yourself an extra set of eyes to alter your experience.
Regain control over your life
It’s all a matter of perspective and how you regain control over your life. You are the creator of your circumstances and you can change what has been created. It’s no secret that wishes, words, and ideas can all change the world. Fill your life with everything that is positive. Most importantly, support others and don’t bring them down. Be happy when others are happy, and always look on the bright side.
